Kaylie haigh

Hi I’m Kaylie, and I am the stage and production manager and the assistant director for  Scrub Up The Misery Theatre Company.

I have studied drama for GCSE and and received a BTEC diploma in 6th form, I first realised that acting wasn’t for me in my first year of 6th form when I worked backstage of a production, and wanted to go into that further. I have done some stage and production management within a three year drama and performance course at The university of Portsmouth. “The Maids” being one production that I worked as stage and production manager. I worked closely with two groups, working on their lighting, sound, props, set, costume and many more aspects with the backstage industry.

I want to pursue stage management once I graduate and I’m looking at studying at GSA to get the qualifications that are needed.

If I had to chose one theatre performance that I have seen to be my favourite it would have to be Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, the reason for this is because of the atmosphere that it creates being an audience member, but also it’s a performance that I would love to stage manage in the future.
