Holly Turner

Hi I’m Holly, a performer and marketing at ‘Scrub Up The Misery’.

I have always had a passion for storytelling, whether that be film or theatre. Bringing an artistic vision to life and finding creative ways of transforming a story from the page to the stage. For me this is a project that I hold a personal connection with, my childhood experiences and relationship with death can hopefully push the film and the characters to their full potential.

I have starred in a number of student short films. The first one, ‘A Soft Touch’ was an action/ thriller about a girl desperately running from a man seeking revenge. The second, ’The Girl in the Chair’ was a horror about a girl waking up tied to a chair with no memory of how she got there. The third, ‘1930’ is a mini series which is still a work in progress!

My love for theatre began for me in school when I played Mrs Jenkins in a production of The Witches. From there I kept studying my new passion and haven’t stopped since. During my studies I have been influenced by playwrights Bertolt Brecht and Polly Stenham. My passion and drive in life performing and creative practices and I plan to continue my career in theatre and film in the future!
